Ideally located in the heart of the vineyards of Château Smith Haut Lafitte, Les Sources de Caudalie are deeply rooted in their terroir and closely tied to the world of wine and its associated activities. As the harvest season arrives in Bordeaux, the hotel and its vineyard actively participate in this well-established regional tradition. The harvest period, with the crispness of autumn, marks the end of the work in the vineyard and the beginning of the work in the winery—the winemaking process. This significant stage in wine production is shared with the guests of Les Sources de Caudalie, who are eager to take part in the harvest and the work of the winemaker. A moment of great conviviality, the harvest embodies an essential part of Bordeaux's culture.

Experience the harvest in Bordeaux with Les Sources de Caudalie.

Les Sources de Caudalie invites wine enthusiasts to explore their vineyard and immerse themselves in experiences centered around their wines and gastronomy. At the hotel, the head sommelier opens the doors to his wine cellar and offers oenology courses based on discovery and exchange. Whether you're a curious beginner or an experienced connoisseur, he will cater to the needs and desires of his guests. This introduction can be followed by a tasting at Château Smith Haut Lafitte. Throughout the year, the Château offers tours of its vineyard, cellars, and cooperage to better understand the stages of grape cultivation and winemaking. These visits are particularly special during the harvest season in Bordeaux, when the fruits of months of hard work come to life. To take the experience even further, Les Sources de Caudalie offers an immersive activity, "In the Footsteps of the Winemaker," allowing participants to live the daily life of a vineyard manager or cellar master. Over the seasons, after exploring the cellars, guests take part in the vineyard work to learn about the many aspects of the winemaker's profession. The workshop is followed by a tasting. This is a unique experience in the heart of the Bordeaux vineyards, offering the chance to learn from experts in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

The eco-responsible philosophy of Château Smith Haut Lafitte

"Before tasting the exceptional wines of the estate, the philosophy of Château Smith Haut Lafitte regarding the preservation of nature and the balance of the surrounding biodiversity is also presented. Château Smith Haut Lafitte, located in the Pessac-Léognan AOC, owes its exceptional quality to the sublime terroir of 78 hectares of “günzien” gravel, but it is also important to highlight the importance placed by its owners, the Cathiard family, on respecting nature and the constant connections created with its ecosystem. The principles of biodynamics and bio-precision have been applied for many years. The grapes are hand-harvested, and their selection is made after seven successive optical sorting processes. Cutting-edge technology and traditional expertise work hand in hand here to ensure the refinement of the vintages in precise and environmentally respectful harvesting, blending, and aging conditions."

Gastronomy and exceptional wines at the heart of the experience

The history of Les Sources de Caudalie, linked to its location and the surrounding vineyards, continues to be written around its two Michelin-starred gourmet restaurant. Lunch or dinner at Terre de Vignes is the promise of a journey to the heart of the Bordeaux terroir, where the quest is for tasteful, essential cuisine that respects the natural surroundings. The estate's wines are showcased in sublime food and wine pairings that give free rein to the creativity of chef Nicolas Masse and his teams. Certain dishes and menus are also inspired by the finesse and depth of the Château's wines.

Les Sources de Caudalie offers a wonderful, all-encompassing experience based around wine excellence, gastronomy and well-being. A unique place where the art of living takes on its full meaning.
